How to Sell

Thanks for your interest in selling your clothing to ATC!  We are happy to look through your items anytime we are open–no appointment necessary! 

All stores give you the option of selling in-store, or dropping your clothing off and picking them up at your convenience.  We issue cash in store with a valid state-issued ID; if you’d like trade, we send you a code through e-mail that is usable in either store and on our website, and is valid for six months! More about electronic trade below.

When you sell in-store, feel free to shop while we buy from you.  We are very efficient and look through things quickly–then you can get your cash or use your trade immediately!

We DO buy:

We look for these items in good-to-excellent condition in all adult sizes. While we cannot guarantee that we can buy any or all pieces, we are always happy to take a look at what you’ve got!  We work very quickly and can look through your clothing while you shop.

SPRING & SUMMER
(February – July)

  • Shorts
  • Tank tops
  • Basic t-shirts 
  • Hawaiian shirts
  • Cutoffs
  • Jeans too–we sell them year ‘round!
  • Summery dresses (lightweight fabric, comfy styles)
  • Rompers/jumpsuits
  • All accessories:  hats, belts, purses, shoes, jewelry, scarves, all of it!
  • Athletic wear
  • Vintage 

FALL & WINTER
(August – January)

  • Flannels
  • Sweaters in heavier fabrics like wool, cashmere, and alpaca
  • Jeans  (worn/with holes sometimes ok!)
  • Medium-weight to heavyweight jackets and coats
  • Boots of all kinds
  • Basic long- and short-sleeve t-shirts
  • Sweatshirts
  • Vintage
  • Accessories of all kinds–shoes, hats, purses, belts, jewelry, scarves!

Unsure about what to bring?  Please do not hesitate to bring in pieces not included in our lists.  We often buy the unusual and unexpected!  We are always happy to take a look.

 We DON’T buy:

  • Baby/children’s items
  • Most formalwear/wedding wear
  • Items that smell like mothballs, cigarette smoke, mildew, or with any unpleasant smell
  • Stained, dirty, torn or damaged clothing
  • Items with excessive pet hair on them
  • Items that were worn into the store
  • Items that were donated to the seller 
  • Multiples of items with price/security tags attached

Please contact us if you have any specific questions about what to bring in.  While we are unable to quote prices over the phone for items, we can give you general guidance as to what we will most likely buy.  We encourage you to bring in any items you are unsure about.  We are always happy to take a look!

Please retrieve your leftover clothing within 48 hours of receiving compensation for your items.  All items become property of ATC after 48 hours.  Thank you so much for selling your clothing to us!

All About ATC Electronic Trade

When you use our clothing drop-off buying service, we give you the option of receiving trade electronically.  When you choose this option we e-mail you a code through a company called Rise.ai.  This will be the sender in your e-mail, so if you don’t see our name in your inbox, check for Rise.ai instead (doesn’t hurt to check your spam, too).

Electronic trade is valid for six months.  It can be used in all ATC locations.  If you happen to be without access to your code, no worries!  We can look it up in-store at checkout.

ATC trade is useable on our website too!  You can copy and paste your code at checkout.  Trade can be applied to every purchase except for gift cards!
